Requesting your prayers for our Birdie

After we got back from Carley's wedding last Sunday, we were advised by our dog-sitting friends that
Birdie was having a gag reflex/throwing up her food.
So Bill took her to the vet for a check-up.
By Wednesday morning, the vet informed us that the reason for Birdie's recent display of gag reflex/throwing up is that apparently an aggressive form of cancer has spread all over her throat and that we have to put her down as soon as possible. Naturally, we were shocked and devastated.
We decided to take her home for one last night with us.
If it weren't for the fact that she is lethargic, losing weight, and has this aggressive plum-size tumor which is creating a big hole in her palate, we would continue to think that everything is fine and dandy.
She is still wagging her tail, barks when the doorbell rings, whimpers in excitement when she sees somebody, runs to another dog to say hi, and still give high-fives with her paw. She is still able to eat soft/wet food.
She was scheduled to be put to sleep yesterday but after describing to the vet how Birdie was behaving,
our vet changed his mind and told us to hold off until she can no longer eat and she will let us know when she is ready. We're taking advantage of every moment we have with her.
Hoping for a miracle.

Love,

Sean, Bill, and Besi
